"They're useless, they're pointless and they're going to go". So said Eric Pickles announcing that a number of quangos are going to be scrapped if the Conservatives win the next election. It is a start. Let us just hope that it is a phased approach to getting rid of all quangos and putting power back in the hands of people who are elected...
