It was while reflecting on the Galileo project that it struck me that using Galileo's name could be considered rather inappropriate for a European endeavour. In fact when one thinks about it, Galileo's thinking actually offers some succour to Eurosceptics who oppose the current EU orthodoxy. Consider how a couple of Galileo's quotes can be applied to EU questions...
